چکیده
Abstract Aims To explore whether grazing-induced legacy effects on plants could benefit adaptation to drought. Methods A water-controlled experiment was conducted in the greenhouse, which with Agropyron cristatum and Carex korshinskyi collected from free-grazing enclosed plots a typical grassland Inner Mongolia. Important Findings We found that A. C. plot were less affected by drought terms of ramet biomass, number total biomass than those plot. The enhanced for should partly be ascribed larger root allocation plasticity under treatment. Our findings suggest grazing management can used improve climate change.

Legacy effects of drought on plant-soil feedbacks and plant-plant interactions.
Interactions between aboveground and belowground biota have the potential to modify ecosystem responses to climate change, yet little is known about how drought influences plant-soil feedbacks with respect to microbial mediation of plant community dynamics. We tested the hypothesis that drought modifies plant-soil feedback with consequences for plant competition. We measured net pairwise plant-...
متن کاملRoot traits contributing to plant productivity under drought
Geneticists and breeders are positioned to breed plants with root traits that improve productivity under drought. However, a better understanding of root functional traits and how traits are related to whole plant strategies to increase crop productivity under different drought conditions is needed. Root traits associated with maintaining plant productivity under drought include small fine root...
متن کاملDrought effect on plant biomass allocation: A meta‐analysis
Drought is one of the abiotic stresses controlling plant function and ecological stability. In the context of climate change, drought is predicted to occur more frequently in the future. Despite numerous attempts to clarify the overall effects of drought stress on the growth and physiological processes of plants, a comprehensive evaluation on the impacts of drought stress on biomass allocation,...
متن کاملDiverse fen plant communities enhance carbon-related multifunctionality, but do not mitigate negative effects of drought
Global change, like droughts, can destabilize the carbon sink function of peatlands, either directly or indirectly through changes in plant community composition. While the effects of drought and plant community composition on individual carbon (C) related processes are well understood, their effect on multiple C-related processes simultaneously-multifunctionality-is poorly known. We studied th...
